I had the chance to get out again with James and learn some new tactics, and got to check out the back channel for the first time. Boy we caught some real nice walleye’s. We didn’t catch to many Sauger but sure had a good time with the walleye. Ended up witha nice 6 fish limit of 17-20 inch walleye’s for a great fish fry tomorrow night. I’ve never used that size plastics on walleye but they sure work. Also rigging a plain hook and crawler upstream at a snails pace. James you can really handle that boat. Wished I could have stayed out later

but needed to get back and watch Menomonie High School football. Menomonie 29 Wasau East 23. Great day on the water and got to the game at half time. I really enjoyed myself and it was sure nice not trailering a boat, getting bait, rigging poles, and trying to find the fish. Anyone out there want a great time fishing get in touch with James and just sit back and relax, reel some nice fish in and have a cold one. Leinenkugel ‘s of course. Hey James how did you do trolling the rest of the night after I left.

    Thanks for the kind words.

As you unfortunately know, the fish really were going good about the time you had to leave. When I made it back they had really moved up shallow and I was able to catch and release dozens more. No huge fish but the average size and quantity was very good. Most of the fish came on those mongo plastics in 2′ of water…. the same technique you and I were using before you had to head out. Trolling didn’t produce well for me on that particular evening. It’s pretty awesome to see those fish inhale a 6″ tail isn’t it!

It was great fishing with you again bud. Looking forward to doing it again.

So, the home team won then!~

Home team won. One more game this Saturday then if they win it’s off to the State Championship. No kids playing now but it got to be a habit going to the games. I only missed two games since the beginning of 1994 because that’s when our kids played from 1994-1999. That’s a lot of games. Hope to be back over that way during the hunting season. Get the deer fast and get back to fishing. Thanks again Steve
