They even let the guy who drives the boat catch a little one. At least I was eligible for the general drawing.

Nice fish Boone! Did you guys get most of your fish casting cranks to the wing dams or did some come on bait? I suppose most of those eyes are holding right at the tips of those dams right now with the real low flows we have in the river.

Nice pics Dan. You sure like those Pool 3 wing dams and they produced good for you on Saturday. I am ready for another fishing lesson down there.

    Dustin,

Yes, most of our fish were taken casting cranks to the wingdams. We concentrated on the wingdams with the most current. With this very low flow rate, I don’t think there are any wingdams that have too much current. (Quite a change from just 6 weeks ago!) We found the fish on the outer 1/3 of the wingdams, not just the tips. We also caught some long-lining cranks on the rip rap. We did catch one nice walleye on the trailer hook of a Dubuque rig tipped with a leech but we didn’t spend much time using this technique.

On Sunday I went out with another buddy and he caught a 23.5″ and a 25″ walleye on the first two wingdams we hit but then we didn’t catch another walleye in the next four hours. We tried hard but struggled to catch just a couple of sheepshead and a few little smallies. Maybe the stronger winds made the differce?

I heard you brought the pork for the hog roast…. thanks a lot…. I loved those sandwiches…. and the Dilly Bars too.
