I havent made it out this week at all, BUT i do plan to make the most of it this weekend and hit it both sat and sun. Looking to spend one day on pool 4 and one on 3. I will hopefully have something to report about when I get back. Until then

Haven’t been out for a week or so but I’ll be putting in at the ramp in Prescott tomorrow for a try at the wingdams. Hopefully I’ll have a good report for you tomorrow night.

Put in at Prescott at 1:30 and hit two wingdams and did a little trolling in 3 hours. No fish trolling, 6 fish in a mixed bag off the wingdams. Crank baits of many shapes, colors, and sizes Jig and crawler, nothing stood out special. Wish I had better news but I had a nice time out on the water.

Pool 3 was quiet for my boat as well on Sunday. The fish we did catch hit really light. Crank baits in dark red and chartreuse-pepper ringworms pinched really short took the two fish we caught (Sm Bass).

I must add that my wife and kids were in the boat and they HATE fishing wingdams . It was interesting that wingdams were the only pieces of structure we fished that produced.

Heres a bit of irony for you all…before getting our boat, we were stuck shore fishing and the wife and kids wished they could fish from a boat.

    Fast forward 3 years…

My kids now wish we could shore-fish instead of sit in a boat.

Hey! Is Mid September too early for Redwing Walleyes? Anyone know or have an opinion?

Really is quiet out there? Lookin to fish the week of Sept 15-23rd. Probably St. Croix, Redwing or even Pepin? Any ideas? Usually fish late fall or early spring and don\’t have a clue about September.–

Fishing on the river is pretty slow until we get a cold snap and kill off some shad. Mid September is probably a little early yet.

Even the Hastings Dike rip-rap sheephead pattern is slow.

I had to take my youngest shore fishing.
