I’m new to the quad cities area and relatively new to river walleyes. I was just wondering if anyone would like to throw out a tip or two to a newbie. Feel free to email me as well, I can understand not wanting to advertise too much.

    Thanks, Joe

Recently moved north from the Quad cities… definately ask around for some specifics. Off the top of my head, Pool 14 has one of the strongest walleye populations around. Pools 16 and 17 also can be good. Pool 15 isn’t good, although you can often get walleyes and saugers from shore in spring (try fisherman’s corner just down from I-80, IL side). Right now the fishing should be strong on wingdams for most species. You also may want to try up by the Hydrodams by Arsenal Island. This area can have great white bass fishing in terms of numbers. Also can be some sauger fishing up there… Thats a very quick list. Let us know how it goes — good to hear reports from back that way.

check out the quad cities in- fisherman club. Not affiliated with In- Fisherman. They are a great bunch of folks and will be a big help. I,m not sure of the contact but you should be able to find themon the net or on the phone.

    Hey there Eyewall,
I live on Big Island and know Pool 16 very well. If you want first hand experience, I’ll be more than happy to take you out. I won’t show you all my spot’s, but will show you some really good one’s…….lol…..
Feel free to pm me anytime. I always have room in my boat for someone who want’s to get to know the river and the fish in it.
I’ll be looking forward to your reply
