Looking for input about the Rapala Tail Dancer for fishing walleye on the Mississippi. Anybody been using this lure for cranking wingdams or maybe trolling with leadcore or Fireline. If so, how has it been working. (Good, not so good, etc.) What colors and sizes have been working well, if any? I fish pool 3 & 4 and have been thinking about trying a handfull of these. I want to know if they catch fish or have they just cought me. Thanks for your input.

They will get down deeper than a shad rap if thats something that you are looking for. as far as catching fish we have caught some fish on the smaller size ones , not much on the larger size. I usaly use them everytime out (twice a week) but generaly end up with a shad rap or hot n tot back on before long. by the way iam talking trolling Ihave not cast them yet.

    Great lure very good action.
I have had good luck on the Hot Club and Shad, sizes #5 and #7.

I love the taildancer. It seems to work very well on the Wolf River in WI for walleye, and I have used the larger ones on pool 4 with pretty good luck. I only fish a few times a year, but the shad color is my go-to lure most of the time.

I pulled the smaller deep taildancer in clown during a smoking hot bite in June on pool 14 . Could not get bit on it when they where killing a #7 rap and wally minnows in the same clown pattern. I’m not going to give up on it I plan on pulling it around this fall. I think the larger profile will work better then. It is amazing how particular they can be some days.

Hey there. Thanks for the input. Wanted to let you know I’ve picked up a couple of Tail Dancers and I’m going to give them a try this coming week.
