Well after what seemed like an eternity, I finally made it out fishing. Got the kid off to day care and headed for Wabasha. Wish I had gone to the north end, but I couldn’t get wing damns off my mind. The sun was darn hot, hot enough I had a problem staying in one spot for too long. I dragged three ways, pitched cranks, hair, and dork rigged it. Only managed two short walleyes on leeches. Several small mouth bass, a few sheepies. The highlight of the day was the sunfish. Man are they stacked on the wing dams right now. I considered hitting the lake with cranks, but I was just too hot. Ended the day short. So there’s my two cents worth of info. I didn’t have any willow cats, wonder if my success rate on catching would have been higher. Good luck to all who go out in this heat. It really can wear you down.
