While the bite has slowed a bit since last weekend, we have still been finding some nice fishing.
Saturday I spent time on the water with my wife and we both enjoyed flat, calm waters all morning. We ended up with 20+ keepers boated and with 25″ being the largers.
Sunday was spent again with two of my grandkids and what a change in conditions, flat to just managable waves, wow. We ended the morning with less fish than yesterday but the quality was much better. The largest fish of the day was not the 10lb’er they put in the boat last week but it was 28″ and just short of 8lbs and my grandson Tra was happy to practive CPR with this nice fish.
Keys to fishing for us continue to be large baits and deep water. Once we find fish, we work the area at a much slower pace.

    Enjoy!

Nothing smaller than 7 raps but mainly 9’s or up.
Some of our biggest fish have been caught with large stick bait fished 3-way style or with large clip weights. We find the fish trolling fast and then target them slower with sticks. This has been working great for us in deeper water just don’t go to small on the sticks or you just load up on the sheepies and white bass.

This years eyes are really nice and fat and anything coming from the deep is so dark, almost rivals the Chippewa Flowage eyes.
We got beat-up yeaterday in the wind, could never get a good troll and my one spot out of the wind wasn’t producing. My wife made up for it today with a 7# 14oz beauty she CPR’ed.
We actually found most of our eyes in shallower water today, under 15 feet. Not big numbers but nice size and super aggresive just inhaling the bait.
