I fished some wing dams on Pool 6 this morning and afternoon, and found some good-sized fish. Some of those were big male channel cat, though. The walleye bite was rather slow, but the ‘eyes I did catch were pretty good-sized. These came on dams that usually produce large numbers of fish, rather than large sizes. As someone else said on this forum, dark colors worked better today, which surprised me a little, given the modest chop and some debris in the water.
I wound up having to keep one 21″ fish who absolutely inhaled a JSR-5 and tore her gullet up good; normally I release any walleye over 19″.
