Pool 4 on Memorial Day

Dean, Brian K, or other Pool 4 regulars,

How is the boat traffic on Memorial Day? I haven’t been on P4 since last October and wanted to come down early Monday morning. Even though Beanies and the Croix is a whole 5 minutes from my house, I want to avoid all the party boat traffic. Anything (eyes, saugers, white bass…) hitting at the dam or is all the action downstream now? Not too many reports lately. My boys will be with me so rod bending action is a must. I’m ready and willing to spend my customary $40 or so on the launch, bait, and tackle…

    TIA

The recreational traffic is totally dependant on the weather. It seems to get busy on nice days around 10 am or so if it is a bluebird day out.The good news is, places like the damn side and back channel areas are sheltered from the heavy wake makers. The baycity area at the head of the lake on the Wi side will be an area as well.

    Drive carefull!

The channel cats are SNAPPING right now. Cut fresh sucker and Sonny’s has been producing a TON of fish. The White bass ae still hitting anything the moves in the water. The sheepies are out with a vengance!

If you go up to the dam, toss out a worm and don’t get hit in 5 minutes…move.

As for the walleyes/sauger, the best places I’ve hear lately is the head of the lake area…but there have been fish caught right in front of Everts.

Many times conditions change daily. Best off to stop in, have a cup of Dean’s coffee and get the latest updates.

Did I mention the channel cats are on fire?

I don’t think the my boys, ages 9 and 11, are gonna enjoy me pulling lead core while they do nothing…..

    Hopefully, the weather cooperates!
