Has any body ran the back channel in the last couple of dats? Was wondering how much water is at the high lines and Funks cut. I was told the river is supposed to drop even more by Sunday. Is there any water on the Bay City flats?

    Thanks much appreciated,
    Brent

I ran both areas multiple times on wednesday without an issue. The putnam closing dam is shallow enough now to “tap” on the north end but there’s no issues running it further to the south where one would normally cross.

From what I could tell the path you need to take to make it through without an issue didn’t change much from last season.

How has the fishing been? I was lucky enough to get a 29″ on Sat evening in front of Goose but that was the only fish. I’m not complaining!

Jr, two keys to running putnam and the back channel:
1.) Turn your depthfinder off and drive as fast as you can.
2.) Remember its your dad’s boat.

Actually I am the one who takes care of the boat. It’s my “baby” so I really don’t want to harm it.

I ran the Wisconsin channel about a dozen times this past weekend and I probably spent 80 to 90% running on the towards MN side. The other 10 to 20% will make you poop your pants if you stay on that side!
