Fished pool 5 at Alma today and did alright. I spent the whole morning live baiting a sand flat and caught 5 legal eyes,15″ to 19.75″. I also caught sauger, large and smallmouth bass, bluegills and sheephead. Crawlers caught more fish and leeches caught the bigger ones. Most fish came out of 4 to 8 feet of water.
Fished pool 5 again on Monday. I brought a friend this time but the fishing was not as good as last week. We fished all day, 12 hours, and managed 3 legal eyes. Plenty of small sauger were caught and we kept 4 over 15″. Location was current seams in 4′ to 8′ of water. Not as many bass as last time and we could hardly buy a fish on a leech, crawler or minnow best.
