minn. opener this yr. was on the river.a friend called last nite to see if he could go with me.kids had planes with there friends ,walleye chick has to work all wk. end so it was just going to be me.
it turned out to be one heck of a good day.put the boat in and i saw some minnows jumping so when tom got in the boat he had a rod ready to go ,so i held the boat in the current and he made no more than 3 cast to the very small eady and the frist fish of the day was in the boat ,a15″ sm.bass, and it was no more than 2′ from were we put the boat in. so the firstspot we came to no more than 3 cast again a 20″ eye makes it to the net.the next fish is one TOM will not forget its his biggest eye to date a 28″ 8.1# walleye , and pfluugy for got the ### camera, but i did get on the phone camera.
well to shorten this up we did some sm.bass fishin and then went back to the eyes ,at days end we had 40 sm.bass and 20 walleyes ,we pitched ,plastics of all kinds ,cranks ,and some hair.thanks pool 3 for a permo day!

Way to be observant! Resisting the “gotta launch and run somewhere” urge, when the bait fish were right there.

Chris and I were on Pool 3 Saturday morning with similar results minus a bunch of Bass. We started out dragging plastics–paddletails were hot—and had 8 keepers in the boat by nine-ish with one 21 incher that went back. That bite died so we switched over to trolling cranks and put another one in the boat and lost a couple of nice ones right behind the boat. We were off the water by a little after noon with 9 eaters. Pool 3 is lookiing good but the cruisers are really out in numbers.
