Boy, you’d think with me living right here i’d have tons of info for you but I haven’t been fishing for about two weeks…From the reports I’ve been hearing the fish have been pretty scattered. With the recent bug hatch I’d go find some muddy back sloughs and pull crawlers or leeches real slow…this should pull a couple of eyes anywhere you go. and far as bass go…the river has been coming down just these past few days…Look to the rock rip rap on the shore lines or some of inside wingdams…the last time I was on the river I was seeing minnow spray and this would be a good tell tail sign that there will be some hungry bass giving chase !!

Good luck on where ever you go and let us know how you do !!

Well we made it out to pool 10.We talked to afew of the locals before we launched. They said that they were getting some eyes but the recent rain brought the river up and the fish shut down.We put in at harpers(public ramp under construction),my dad said he first wanted to see the dam,he hadn’t been there in 20 years so we headed up there.
After dodgeing the downpours, spending alittle time talking to the old feller who runs the dock and shelter(during the downpour),running through a tank of gas and some laughs,we only caught acouple shephead, acouple bass, and a catfish.Casting riprap w/cranks and jigs, pulled spinner rigs and cranks, and pulled crawlers and leeches.
But we had a great day and the scenery was awesome.Seen two beautiful bald eagles. All in all it’s great to be out.Think we’ll make plans for the fall.
River alittle high,4″to7″vis.,little gabage floating down.GOOD FISHING.

Sorry you didn’t put any eyes in the boat…As far as the garbage coming down and the river being high and the visability only 4-6″….welcome to pool 10 !!
