Cranking still producing good action in the evening. Fished 2 1/2 hours, 5 walleye, 1 flathead, one 5-7lb channel, and a couple smallmouth. Water still pretty warm-warmer than the air last night. I only fished w/ shap raps, 1/2 the eyes came in the channel, others tight to the shore.

This is my first year fishing almost exclusively on upper pool 2, anyone know what the fall patterns are like? Do the eyes relate to deeper holes in the channel or remain spread out? Is the Ford Dam area itself get good again like it does in the spring?

    Take care all-thanks.

as the water continues to cool they will usually start to relate to holes more and more…….. and yes.. the ford dam does pick up in the fall….. in fact you can get into some really big numbers of fish there… though the size is not usually great…. they really stack up along that current break behind the island……… and when they do you can catch them with just about any river technique you like….. I favor jig and minnow…. but 3 ways work too, and cranks too most likely…. perhaps with the cranks you might get bigger fish….. Ive not really tried them….. starting in November and December you can start getting the fish in lower pool 2 out of the deep holes down there……. there sued to be amazing numbers of big saugers down there…. it seems the last few years the numbers have not been as good… but they are still around……
