I had a chance to hit the water yesterday before this weather rolls in. Sounds like someone else got that elusive 10 pounder although I did connect with this pair. The biggest was 9-8 and was just a hair shy of 28″. I was trying to do a self portrait so sorry for the zombie expression. I really was happy to catch them!
Both fish came on chartreuse/green core ringworms on 3/16 sour apple heads. Also took a few on firecracker/chartreuse tail including a stud 24.5″ male walleye. I caught fish both pitching seams and slow upstream retrieves through eddies with heavier heads in the 5/16 range. This weather really has me bummed. I was hoping to spend a couple more days this week on the water. Hopefully the cold won’t affect the bite too much but it looks like we’ll be needing to bundle up!
