Hidden Falls Launch… te water is up, the current is moving… Watch out for underwater hazards! Lots of big jagged rocks just under the water where a person would pull up the boat to tie off to get their trailer… AND.. there IS A BIG ROCK on the ramp! I was pulling up on the trailer last night and while powering onto the trailer I caught the rock with my prop and smashed 2 of the fins pretty good

My boat doesnt draft very deep… be sure to keep your motor trimmed way up while loading the boat.

Quick fishing report.. The water is very high, and the flow is crazy. The water temps are from 41 to 46 degrees. All of the action today came on 1/8-1/4 oz chart or white twister tails tipped with a minnow. The 4 walleyes we caught(14″-18″) hit very aggressively taking the jig in deep. I also caught one white bass and seen a few more caught. All of the fish hit within the same half hour time period, then the action died before the rain moved in. We were fishing 8′-16′.

The water clarity is improving, but high visability baits still seem like a must. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve I am reserving for near future trips, I hope to give some better reports. When the sun was shining, the fish seemed to be biting.

I don’t think the sun shines anymore! We need the rain. But you think we could spread it out over a couple of months instead of making up for the deficit immediately?

Next week is looking good Dave! Tuesday or Wednesday!

    Thanks for the report.
The water clarity has improved quite a bit to the south already. Not a solid pattern yet to report, but I am liking the current water levels and clarity right now!

Steve.. I like the high water myself on p2! I wasnt trying very hard. I was thinking of trying hard, then whe wind picked up.. I went back to not trying very hard

I suspect I will be able to get in a good report next week as long as the females dont dissapear. I was really surprised not to see any saugers?

I’ll be back on the river after this arctic air and wind move through.

Thanks for the quick report Dave. I was out on Sunday without much to show for the effort. I was able to avoid the rocks at the ramp, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. The eddy in front of the ramp makes for a fun landing scenario.

The rock I got was on the ramp! My boat was 1/2 way up the trailer and BAM! I was at low RPM’s or I am sure my prop would have been busted. It stopped my engine(no damage to prop shaft thank goodness).

I have careful tweaking to do with a dead blow hammer and file now for my *extra prop*.
