I couldn’t take it…55 degrees! I had to go out on the water. I gassed up the boat, got the motor running, and headed for the 494 access. The access is in fine shape with no ice or snow to contend with. There still isn’t any current to speak of. Water temperature was 42.6 degrees, and using a white hair jig I estimate water clarity at 3 feet. There was a lot of activity down there today. Five or six rigs in the lot, Eagles and Ospreys everywhere, and I even saw a flock of Turkeys scratching around. Oh, and picking up right where I left off last Fall I didn’t catch a darned thing except for snagging a few shad.

One more thing…the ice in Pig’s eye Lake is starting to break up and come down river. I saw a couple of real big ice bergs out there just above the bridge so keep your eyes open!

Good to see you make it out there Rootski. I was down there last Friday and ended up with a big zero. It was sure nice to be out though. The clarity was around 3-4 ft I would guess. There was a lot of dirty water dumping in though, so I would expect things to pick up shortly. Hopefully we’ll see you down there soon.

Yep, same report for my boat on Sunday evening. Was out with Mike W and my son Tyler. We caught a couple big scaled fish and 2 smallies.
