How many people got out yesterday?
We launched at 11am and fished till dark.

I got out with my best buddy Al and my cousin Jerry. Action was fast and furious, but lacked in size. I don’t think we picked up one female walleye out of about 60. Also pulled in another 30 saugers. Had a few white bass, a 3+lb smallie caught by Al. Even caught a jumbo perch!

My cousin kept count and with a jig/minnow pulled up 30 walleyes and said he was done for the day and went home!

Couldn’t get much of a plastic bite going for the bigger females, so we kept the rods bending on the males. I think we burned up about 3 scoops of fatheads.

What didn’t come on a jig/minnow, we caught on blade baits. Purple, gold, and even silver all did well. The fish were smacking the heck out of the blades! The blades worked well both vertical jigging and pitching. While pitching the blades, subtle pulls, pauses, hops, and slow steady retrieves created hot strikes!

THANKS to Dean at Evert’s for the GREAT hospitality!!!!!!!
Sir, you got it all at the resort! It has never looked better and the ramps are awesome! Great tackle supply too!

Water is still clear and flow is…….well, there really isn’t any flow! Fish are scattered and to be found about anywhere. Use your electronics and TRUST them and you will find all the fish you want!

gary, well done. I’m thinking about hitting p2 or p4 before work tomorrow if I can rationalize my way out doing some other things that I probably should. Sounds like you guys had a blast.

Good to here you had action Gary! It was a dissapointing big fish weekend for anglers in general. The best is yet to come. But nearly 50 degree temps in early March is pretty special in itself for coldblloded guys like myself! It was great to see a bunch of old and new friends this weekend!
