Fished pool 4 yesterday with mixed results. First of all, Fish2live filled my open boat seat and was great to meet him and had a good time fishing. Also, Dean at Evert’s is as good as advertised. OK, back to the fishing we worked had dragging early in the morning 8′ to 12′ fow with little success but we weren’t next to the dam, we tried different areas. about 11:00 am we moved into traffic by the dam and picked up 4 good size saugers that we kept plus a couple dinks. Fish2live caught the biggest at about 19″ ( he also caught the smallest ones.) Just after sunset the LMS 332 started showing fish all over. I caught several small saugers and one 12″ walleye. It was good to get back on the water. There is a milk jug marking the exposed reef so be careful in that area. Good Luck!

I saw this post and got excited thinking the MN was turning on for cats. Didn’t know they had pools on this river, but good to hear something is hitting.

The first half of last year that jug wasn’t there…and that’s one heck of a tree just under water!

I know that I have two clients that won’t forget that night!

I looked at the GPS as I’m motoring past the last (3rd) wing dam and said to myself…”I’m just a bit too far to the right”. Turned the wheel and made a glancing blow!

That was enough to make a pareacher swear!

15 minutes later, after checking for leaks and lower end damage we were off and catten. That jug is now marked very well on my gps!

Always great to meet in person our IDA folks in person!

Jack, not much change yet….clear as a bell and very low flow.

Slayer, just below the bottom wingdamn and almost in the middle of the channel towards the MN side.

what is that exactly? i have seen it a few times and got pretty close to it on accident? Is it a tree that’s hung up or a wingdam?

I don’t think it’s hung up and it’s very easy to see during day light hours.

I didn’t get a real good look at it…but at 15 miles an hour, I would say it looked like a wooden pole sticking just barely out of the water.

Next time out there I’ll put some reflective tape on it for the night guys.

It is just south of wingdam #3. The jug was knocked off by a boat that ripped a hull wide open so I was told…
Regardless of the facts of the story, that is where the stump resides….waiting…..Be careful!

If somebody were to hit that stump heading upriver, I can easily see it doing some serious damage to a hull Heading downstream, you may get lucky and only glance off it or you could possibly leave some parts behind. When the wind is blowing, that jug is vert tough to see until you are right on top of it. Like Chris mentioned, be very cautious when you get close to the exposed wingdam, it is just downstream of that

the jug like mentioned is just south of the exposed wing dam (3rd one) and about about 1/3 or so the way out from the MInnesota side it is JUSt baley under the surfave at a 45 degree angle downriver
