Coming to fish pool 4 in a couple of weeks. First time and am looking for where to purchase some of the baits I read about or will standard lead heads and twister tails be ok? Colors? Sizes? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Just go to everts. He has all you need and the latest on whats going on. This is the standard reply for pool 4. Reason being its true. Good luck down there.

Welcome to the site Bernie! A chartreuse or yellow twister tail on a leadhead jig will catch fish on any body of water including the river.

If your headed to pool 4, especially if it’s your first time, you really can do no better than to check out Everts Resort on the Wisconsin side of the river. They can set you up with the more specialized baits used on the river, including what the latest hot colors are, as well as showing you on a map the location of the wingdams that are up near the dam.

Sorry if I sound like a commercial but in my HONEST opinion, for a $7 launch fee, the fishing info you’ll get there is literally up to the minute and worth much more. Here’s a link to their website if you care to take a look: Everts

Thanks for the help. I had planned on Everts for the launch and to buy a few things. I also checked out BFishN Tackle on here.

    Welcome to IDA Bernie!

As previously stated, the best bet is stopping in and chatting with Dean. A few minutes and a cup of coffee chatting with him will up your odds for a more successful trip!

Don’t forget to bring some soft peanut butter cookies along for Dean…always helps to butter him up! (jk)

Ditto everybody else, go se The Man at Evert’s he’ll steer ya’ straight, just don’t buy any of his minnows, they absolutely will not catch fish.

Spent the day on 4 today. We were pretty much skunked until this evening. We stopped back at the resort to talk to Dean around 3:00 who basically told us what to do and we ended up catching some fish and having a good outing! Dean’s the Man!

Spent the day on pool 4 Mon. and after a fish or two in the early morning the bite stopped!!!! Pitched blades and jigs most of the day.

We ended up nailin ’em again the last hour of daylight again. Gotta love those ringies! Definitely a low light bite right now. Thanks for the help again Deano!! Good luck all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
