And perhaps my favorite from this past week… 8 year old Wyatt “The Carnivour” Huso & his father Nathan on their annual father & son outing with Moving Waters Guide Service back at Everts Resort with a nice two man limit of walleye and sauger from 15″ – 19″.

How big was the smallie with the deformed mouth? Last year I caught a 3.75 lb prespawn smallie 2 times on the same bait in roughly the same area within a week up at the dam. This fish had a deformed lip also. Can’t remember which side though.

She was 18.5 – 18.75″ long. Can’t remember exactly for sure. Approximately 3.5 – 3.75 Lbs with the length conversion chart I have.

Quick question. Have been on lake 3 times past 10 days. I think the bite has been great. Nothing real big but enough keepers for a few meals and alot of short fish. Not one sauger. Been mainly below Maple Springs. 8 to 12 ft. Just wondering why no saugers? Wrong spot or something else. We have trolling shads, lindy rigging and throwing plastic. Thanks.

That could make it the same fish, which would really say something for CPR as that would be at least the 4th time that fish was caught.

that wouldn’t suprise me at all . i was thinking that the same fish get caught several times each year before they eventually get taken for dinner . with all those lures getting thrown in front of them they must get caught more then once in their life time. has anyone ever heard of any statistic supporting this? or am i just shootin blanks here?

    James,
you mentioned a 4″ Chunky Butt tube from B-Fish’n?
Are they in the outlet store on the site yet? Tubes (other than Powerbait) are hard to come by. Not a lot of places have a good inventory. I’m not a big fan of the Powerbait tubes. Not enough scent or bulk. Would be nice to get them here.

Mr.James holst, I just wanted to take a few minutes to say Thank You! Both my father and I had a great time sharing your boat with you on the 25th! He told me This was one father’s day present that could not be OUTDONE!I’m truly amazed with the amount of knowledge that I walk away each time I am out on the water with you. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for making the very best”limiting out” of what started to be a slow day!! I have recomended you to many more In the Lacrosse Area. I am also very excited to let other FISHERMEN in my area know that if they need BfishN tackle, such as SUPERDOOS,RINGWORMS,ect. they can now contact(Bob)@ TRI-STATE BAIT IN Dresbach, or (Brad)@ West end Bait Shop in Winona. Both are great guys! Thanks Again James!! Paul S.

    Steve

Good question! I don’t know…. lol I just got some from mudlnthru, he told me to “go play” and I went fishing. Not sure what his plans are. I hope he gets more in. I just sent him a PM telling him to get them available. No reply yet. They’re not available on-line and I’ve not heard anything about adding them.

Sorry I wasn’t more of a help to you.

Wrong spot? Wrong day(s)? Wrong technique? Not sure. I’ve been catch very few myself but then I rarely do catch any in the river through the summer and on the lake I usually fish pretty shallow so that would take me out of the ball park as well. We caught oodles of them this winter – spring so the populations are healthy enough.

My suggestion, if you really want to catch some saugers, would be to grab some leadcore and #5 shad raps or jointed raps and worked 16’+ of water. Shouldn’t take long to find them that way.

Anyone else out there been into any saugers lately? Inquiring minds want to know!
