    I just posted this picture in our photo gallery and thought I’d share this with all those that visit the Mississippi River Walleye forum. Anyone else seen one this deformed before? Holy smokes! I’ve caught a good number of walleyes with a little kink in their back or an obvious deformity but this one is a marvel of survival. I’m assuming, for lack of an alternative explaination, that this happened when this fish was very young and was likely caused by a run-in with a DNR shock boat that cuased intense muscle spasms to the extent that this damage was caused.

    Anyone else ever seen something like this?

    Are you sure the fish didn’t get the bends from being brought up too fast?

    Now James, I have heard of people altering fish to get a legal, but I think you are taking this a little to far.

    when I worked the hatchery you would see a percentage of crooked spines… they occur “naturally”… as a deformity.. but to see one survive that long is suprising… the odds are clearly against it……

    James:

    In the LPO this year, my partner caught one that looked similar to that one also. We did snap a few photos and then released it.

    Not sure the cause. Someone said and had a name for it, similar to scoliosis in humans, any truths??

    And I was watching Midwest Outdoors TV the other night and they caught a humpback in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota!!! First thing I thought of was H20’s fish and it seems we already have two.

    Reminds me of how I learned to spell Mississippi

    “M”, “i”, crooked letter, crooked letter, “i”;
    Crooked letter, crooked letter, “i”;
    Humpback, humpback, “i”: Mississippi.

    How about this:

    Two Italian men were sitting behind a woman on a bus.

    “Emma come first,” one of the men said to the other.

    “Denna I come. Two esses, they come together. I come again. Denna two esses, they come together again. I come again and pee twice. Denna I come oncea more.”

    “You Pigs!,” the lady yelled. “In this country, we don’t talk about our sex lives in public!”

    “Hey, coola down, lady,” the one man said.

    “Imma justs tellun him howa to spella Mississippi.”
