Pools 14 through 16

How is the fishing in this area.

We have never fished the Mississippi before.

We will be coming in for the classic.

So we fully understand if you dont want to give away hotspots.

Any tips would be helpful.

I’ll be going out on 14 tommorow. Have not fished much lately, but last time out was slow, except for a 6 or 7 minute fight with a 29″ eye. Fish have been very scattered but water temp is dropping so it may have picked up some of late. Have not heard any reports here lately except Kensyl Readings report which you can link from th FTR main page.

Picked up a couple fish drifting a clam bed, and a couple more trolling crawler rigs up the channel edge along the end of a series of wing dams. Deep sand bar (10-12 feet) with a lot of ripples was holding a lot of fish, but I could not trigger them. Ran out of time. Good luck!
