    Dustin,
Great Report and nice fish! You and James truely amaze me at the fish you catch… I don’t think anyone knows pool 4 as well as you two…

I’m kind of a master myself… master of getting skunked on the river.. seem to have my troubles figuring out how to catch fish on the river… get some once in awhile, but no consistency whatsoever, like you guys… Do you guys ever get skunked?

any tips on where to go for bass/walleye mixed bag next week? We were thinking of trying Lake City area pitching ringworms… didn’t do very well on that last time out, but the water was a bit cold then – 51. Thanks, Rigman

    Hi Rigman,

The area down below Lake city should be a great place to pitch jigs with a mixture of both species this time of year. The water temps have climbed in to the mid 50’s so if it isn’t happening already it won’t be long. I will be down that way early next week to do some checking in this area for the same things as you are.

As far as getting skunked? It has been a long time since I’ve spent a day on pool 4 with out a legal walleye. Some days are much better than others.

BigFish4, I have no idea how big that sheep was, big enough to make us mumble a few choice words when it made it’s first appearance boat side . Although it wasn’t the fish we wanted it to be, Steve looks like a happy man in the picture none the less

I know I said in my report that the river was suppose to subside, well………..I just checked again and with all the rain it suppose to rise at least a foot or more by Wednesday of next week. Just thought I would give everyone the heads up.

yeah… I was going to comment on that… we got TONS of rain.. the creeks up here are flowing hard… which means the croix is going to rise fast and hard… which means the miss will too…. its coming.. count on it… I would say the Croix will be up here in a couple of days.. maybe 3 at most…. thats my experience….

Very nice report Dustin, super pictures, thanks for taking all the time it takes to put out a thorough and long report.. what time of year is your toughest time for fish in the boat, do you have a slow time during any year, I sure would not think so. way to bang ’em. Jack.
