    I don,t know how much longer I can hold out! I have really enjoyed reading all the useful information at this site and can hardly wait to wet a hook in the mighty Mississippi! My wife thinks I am buying out Cabelas since I am sending weekly payments….It’s a shame we have to go by Bass Pro on the way up.Just one for the road…Do the shad run the river much or do they hold in the slower stretches? Have to go ..still have time to make another order!

    I see shad all over, from the main channel, to wing dams, to side channels and backwater lakes – this year they are everywhere and there are lots of them – all about the right size for bass and walleye (3-5 inches).

    Hope you like the river. Just remember its gonna take at least 45 lbs. to win. Tony and I have adjusted our attitude. Believe it or not we are only 190 miles away, and have not prefished. The river changes so much every week we just didn’t want to fall into a pattern that wasn’t happening in two weeks. We know where the fish are , it will just be a matter for everyone to figure out that something extra that does it. I ran a tourney down there and have a “bunch” of buddies, but when it comes right down to it ya gotta be on everyday on every cast to win, with some serious help from the Boss. I have a Bass tourney I’m thinking about this weekend and a Mississippi twoday, Next weekend so I won’t have a lot of time to think much about the “Classic” It looks like I will qualify for (4) National championships this year, but having come so close to winning in Lake of the Woods , I’m sure the “Classic” will be the biggy for me for sometime to come. I sure look forward to meeting a bunch of you guys and gals down at Davenport. After the tourney you can have a half off sale on all the tackle that didn’t work. Then at the end you can auction off to the highest bidder the one that won it all for you. See Ya Lawrence

    I can’t wait see what it like to see water running in a river that you can put a boat in.It well be something to talk about all the good times we well have and the poeple we well meet. Who know we might even boat a fish or two,I know we well give it all we got.It has been great reading all the info.from all the river fishman. thank to all see you in 13 days. texset
