Kind of a mixed bag of a report here. The heavy rains Sunday night and very early Monday AM had an already high and dirty pool 12 looking more like running sludge than water. The water was full of small debri. We were able to find clearer water in the morning and caught fish on nearly every pass, but the size was nothing special. Caught one plump egg laden sauger.By far the most effective technique was a slow trolled three way with light sinker and floater with minnows.

As the the afternoon came even protected bays had become very muddy and the bite quit completely.

Very late for a female not to have spawned yet. Was the fish just fat or did you dress it? Water temps in Pool 13 have been around 58 for nearly 1 1/2 weeks or better. Females not spawning is worrysome – does not bode well for a good spawning season.

yeah… thats for sure John… Ive heard a couple of other reports of unspawned fish… I suppose the water temp increase was too fast for a good spawn?

John she was extremely plump in the belly area. She went back to hopefully do some good in the future. None of the Walleye we caught around here were milting so your guess is as good as mine what is going on, but if I had to bet I would say eggs. We are still catching sauger females with eggs up here. Last year absorbing or not we caught some until third week of May or first week of June .
