MikeW and I made it out tonight and fished north of the bridge with minimal success. I felt like a used puckbag after it was over as Mike kicked my and then handed it back to me tonight. It was tough night with the wind but we managed 3 fish. Best was a 25 incher that went 7.9 on the digital scale. This fish was so fat it was unbelievable. Fish came on ringworms, all orange/chartruse tail. The closet I came to fish all day was the second cast where my ringworm came back with no tail…pretty sure that was a fish! Good luck out there, stay warm and be safe.

Hey Micah I know what it’s like to take pictures of Mike’s fish! The guy sure knows what he’s doing. How was the ramp?

25″ x 7.9 pounds and you’re calling it a night of fishing with “minimal success.” Pool 2 guys are so spoiled!

    Thanks for the update, Micah.

That is incredible. These fish look like they swallowed a oversized ostrich egg.
    Nice fish guys.

I think John hit it on the head by saying we are pretty spoiled up here. I got a email awhile back from a inquirer and he asked me about all the #6-#10 fish we all post here on IDA. He then proceeded to say “Those fish are nice, but do you ever get in to any Big fish?” I kind of chuckled to myself. I knew he meant about those elusive 11#-14# fish we all dream about, but I still had to laugh. Yeah, we got it alright here thats for sure.

The dimensions of these fish are what you’d exp[ect when you’re talking about Largemouth Bass…22 inches 6lbs, 23 inches 7lbs. Amazing sized fish.

Well said Steve and John…it was a rough night of fishing only from my end of the boat cause I was taking Mike’s pictures. It’s pretty amazing though the size of these fish. I wish I had taken a picture of this things belly laying sideways on the measuring tape, it literally looked it had swallowed a softball. We are truly blessed to have fish this big so close.

Good to see the fish are still going. I’m going to try to make it down there this weekend, hopefully Friday and Saturday if the weather cooperates. How’s the daytime bite been going lately?
Thanks for the report Micah and nice looking fish Mike.
