I was wondering when your casting small jigs to a rocky shoreline do you wan,t to drift with the natural speed of the current or do you wan,t to slow yourself down by backtrolling or slipping with the bow mount or kicker while casting.I was also wondering if you guys use plastics with or without bait most of the time on your jigs. THANKS AGAIN

I prefer to slow my speed through an area so I cna make several/many casts to the same spot to ensure I’ve made a good presentation before moving on. The key is the drift speed of the bait and not the speed the boat is moving.

I rarely if ever use bait on plastics. Some put a fathead on 2″ -3″ twistertails and do well but generally I use 4″ stuff or larger so it doesn’t seem to be necessary. Actually adding bait often does more to cost you fish than anything when fishing plastics.
