We met the much heralded Steve at Everts around 7:30 friday and made our maiden voyage onto pool 4. Along with a LOT of other boats I might add. Anyway, Steve gave us some solid tips and it was pretty steady until we had to leave around 1:30. I used my beginners luck for the pool by being lucky enough to connect with a 28 1/2″ piggy around 1 near the vermillion hole. She had a girth of 20+” and was full of eggs. It was nice to see her swim away. I will try to attach a photo, but don’t hold your breath. I just want to thank all the regulars on the board for some great advice, and to let them know I will be back to enjoy more of the pool soon.

I got her on a pink 1/2 oz airplane jig and a fathead in about 22 feet of water. We caught 11 total for the morning, with 5 others between 15″ and 21″. Two of those 5 were sauger including a 18″ and the 21″. Oh yeah, one sheepie in the 8 pound range too! Thanks for the warm welcome from all of you.

Jigtugger, glad you had a successful trip! I 2nd or 3rd or where ever we are on releasing that fish! I can’t take much credit for that fish, cuz I KNOW I didn’t tell you to fish 28 feet of water with a airplane jig and minnow!!!! Nonetheless, you connected. Welcome to the board and good fishin!
