Got down to pool 4 at noon, headed down the river to near the 5th cut. on first pass caught 4 Sauger, a 17″ and 3 16″. there were about 15 boats in that area as there was a WWA Walleye tourney going on. Went further down river to a new area for me, also about 7-8 boats in this area, starting to look for the deepest water in that area and found 26 feet. made my first drift in 24 feet, and after 5 minutes had a solid thump on my orange SuperDoo. Very nice fish and heavy coming in, once I saw it I thought I better net it as I’m sure I was a Sauger. The enclosed picture is that fish. A beautiful 22 1/2 inch Sauger. I is my nicest Sauger in the last four years. Put it for a little bit in the well, til I figured how I was going to get a few good pictures. I asked two guys in a boat nearby, and asked if they’d help with a picture. I picked up one of them in my boat, and got some nice pictures then released the fish. Thanks you guys for the help. Ended up the day with about 15 fish. Best action was 20-24 feet and using SuperDoos. Orange seemed the best today for color. The best part of the day was of course the big Sauger, It qualifies for an In-fisherman Master Angler patch, My second in 3 weeks, the big Largemouth I boated in Ca also qualified. see you on the water. Jack..
