Unlike Jake we did find some fish to cooperate today.First thing this morning we did the plastics in 8-14′, my partner picked up a handful of walleye and sauger with a purple-white ringworm while I goofed around with super doos.I did manage 1 with those. Decided to pull some livebait behind 3-ways, floaters and plain hooks with minnows. We kept busy the rest of the day, not fast and furious but nice and steady. We stayed between 10’and 20′ deep with are best luck at the 14-18′ range just barely moving forward and doing alot of slipping side to side. There were alot of fish under 14″ but we did manage to get a few over 18″, here’s a shot of Dale and a 20 1/2″ male, has you can see it just squirted him when I was going to take the pic.

it’s good to here that someone got those darn fish figured out today. i’m sure that if we could have stuck it out just a little longer we could have probably gotten a few more. but it didn’t really seem like the bite was going to pick up much and i we weren’t going to try and catch any to keep so we decided it just wasn’t worth it.

where did you fish today, ken?? what boat were you in?? we didn’t see that many boats out so i probably would remember you if we saw you.

like i said, we were mainly fishing around the hay creek area. never ventured much north of there. did you guys get a chance to go up towards the dam at all?? it always seems when the fish aren’t biting my friend wants to head to the dam. but we were just a little to far away to zip up there today.

Jake, we spent the whole day from the dam to the Y.I don’t blame ya for quiting early, it was chilly out there. There’s nothing like biting fish to warm you up, and once we got into them it did’nt feel to bad out there. Take care..

I went out in that crap today from 5:30 A.M to about 10:30 and then again from 3:30 till 6:00 .. it was cold as hell…. I was with an OLD SCHOOL jig and minnow man… so I was forced to YO YOU most of the day…. (his boat) did mange to cast a wing dam for a few minutes….and cought a big female… and a 18 inch small mouth bass…. that bass was really fun… never fished for them before and it was really a different feel…… without that distinct head shake…. fun day…. saw so friends from the board….

Hawg, was the live bait minnows or did you start with crawlers too? Is that an Accurist 401/501 laying in your boat? I use the 401C, fantastic reel for pulling live bait.

Did’nt have any crawlers, the place I tried to get them at had them but the were froze. Just minnows, I did pull cranks behind 3-ways also, no luck there. Those reels are the Accurist,I like them.Thats my buds boat,we flipped a coin before we left friday morning loser drives. It was nice just riding along for the day.(especially the ride home). Jack, I thought it was 42-43. Take care…
