On Thanksgiving night, my girlfriend and I were away from our families, so we decided to go fishing. Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving night. The biggest was just shy of 27 inches . Does anyone know how much that would weight since we did not have a scale ?

another one!!! We were fishing in three feet of water with husky jerks. The walleyes would absolutely crush the bait on the pause.

6-7 pounds would be my guess. Nice fish.

The walleyes we have been catching on pool 2 are running pretty heavy lately. Have had a couple of 24″ fish that hit 6.5 on the scale. Joe caught one around 26″ last night that went 7.14 on the scale. I would think that 27″ fish went soewhere between 8 to 9 pounds.
Looks like you found a good hole for big walleyes.

Congrats. Very nice fish!! The weight of a 27″ female walleye at this time of year is probably around 8lbs. I caught a 27 incher three weeks ago that weighed 8.2 lbs on my digital. On Wednesday last week I caught a walleye that taped out at 26-3/4″ and weighed 8.0 on the same digital scale. Both of the big girls were released.

Thanks for the help. I thought it was in the seven to eight pound range. Went out again last night, and lost two big girls right next to shore, but was able to land a 22 and 24 incher as well as a 10 pound carp. All fish were released to be caught another day.

I have a question for some of you walleye guys. I have been able to catch some nice walleyes using jerk baits, and I was wondering what other methods would work for catching shallow water walleyes (5 feet of water or less)at night fishing from shore? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I plan on going again this Saturday to try and catch that elusive 10 lb’er.

    Thanks for the help guys,

    Ben

    5″ K-grub on a 1/8th or 3/16 oz. head.

Dont forgat ringworms. Chartruse pepper and chartruse pepper with a white core. Thats whats working onthe top of the wingdams for us. Most of these dam top out at 5′ or less. Play around with the retreives. Swimming the jig just above bottom. Try some pauses in a steady retreive. That has been real good as of late. Realing them in so the jig is swimming along and smacking the tops of the rocks can be good. Just like crank baits they may want it one way one night and something else the next.

What type of area are you fishing down there?

Went out to my honey hole on Saturday night to see if I could catch that elusive 10 pounder. I got to my spot, and on the third cast I caught this 10 pound 3 ounce walleye in about 2 feet of water . I had to get in the water to land her because she would not slide over the rocks like the others one do because she was too big. I am putting her on the wall, but I did catch a 24, 26, and 27 incher as well, and all of those fish were released to be caught another day.

Nice fish. Did you get them on plastics or jerkbaits? Which pool?

Great job letting the other big ones go!

The big one was caught on a all white husky jerk, but the others were caught using a B-Fish-N Tackle Ringworms. The fish would just kill the Ringworms.
