    Picked this one up by Montecello on the Mississippi. 8 1/2 lbs on a blue and white ringworm in 2 ft of water. Ended the day with 5 walleye, 5 smallies and 2 catfish

    But there are no walleyes above Pool 2, this does not compute.

    Very nice fish. I thought all that river had in it up there was bass and catfish. Do you find many larger fish like that? What type of areas do you look for to find them?

    Your right there is not any above pool 2.

    True, it is mostly smallies up there but walleyes can be found in the deeper holes. fish will come out the the holes through out the day and feed in nearest shallow area. fall concentrates the large fish in these deeper areas ( 9ft is deep). 7 lb + walleyes are rare. Large muskies can also be had.
