Nearly all of my pool 2 trips this fall have been solo runs scouting out new areas. Really tempting to hit the “Milk Run” spots that I know I can pop a couple fish on. Well, yesterday I switched things up and hit a few of my go to spots with IDA member “dead weight” running in his Triton 205. Looks like everyone must have been watching the game as we didn’t see more than one other fishing boat out Sunday!

The dams we hit were not loaded up by any means. A fish here and there. Pretty slow over all. We got off to a great start when Terry popped this fish on his very first cast to a pool 2 wing dam!

A little later got into a couple bass then switched from cranks to jig/ringworm presentation. Played around with a couple different color combos when this guy came knocking. You know you have the color dialed in when you are extracting the bait from the back of the eye’s mouth!

This one here was either the very first large mouth bass off a wing dam in pool 2 I have caught or it’s been so long I can’t remember. Either way it was a surprise to see this guy come to the boat.

Can’t wait till next time out! P2 is shaping up for a good fall run.

I was out sunday morning, managed two walleyes 20,22 and a big white bass, the only bites I got all morning. I think I will fish the afternoon from now on.I only saw two other boats, a yarcraft with three guys and a black and silver lund with two guys.My numbers are in direct preportion to steves with a ratio of about 6:1, so I am hoping he posts some big numbers, if he gets 30 that means I will get 5.

Boy, ain’t that the truth?!? I’m right there with ya Sippi! I’m expecting the bite to blow open any day now…my father-inlaw and I had 48 degrees for a water temp on Saturday night, so it’s close!

    Thanks for the report Joon!
Nice fish Terry. Not bad for the first cast?

Funny guys! I wish I could say its been easy to do. Man I have been working for them up unitl yesterday. Yesterday was the first REAL sign of things shaping up into a good fall classic pitching bite. It was a real treat to see things coming around like they did. Yesterday I went 2 fish for about 3 hours of fishing until I finally hopped around enough to find a good pod of willing participants. They were hungry and I was happy to help them out?

One thign that was kind of neat yesterday. Joe Busch (aka..RatherBFishn) and I were fishing a spot and a Bald Eagle came down out of a perched limb after I released a white bass. The eagle hovered over us like a seagull waiting to be fed. He came really close to us and sat there in the air for a few seconds. What a sight!

Wasn’t that awesome I bet if you held that fish up in the air she would have came down and taken it right from your hand. I have never seen an eagle so tame to sit right over our heads hovering like that. I bet it was olny 25 feet over us at best. Pretty cool. Next time down I might have to save some sheepie snacks in the live well
