Alma Dam Fishing Report Update

    I decided to check on the bite at the Alma dam. It was very slow today to say the least. The only thing that bit today was perch, perch, and more perch. Perch everywhere, but at least they were decent size. The average sized perch was about 10”. I saw only two boats other than myself catch fish today. They landed two nice sized walleyes.

    I tried jigging plastics, bucktail jigs, and just dragging a minnow. The two other boats caught their walleyes jigging tipped with minnows. I knew I should have went to Red Wing today instead!

    I decided to try the Whitman Dam and had the same expereince you did minus the Perch. Jigs, Minnows, Jigs with Minows, Crawlers, etc. I couldn’t get anything to bite. Ironically, I live on a small river north of Milwaukee and my son told me the smallies and channel cat were biting like crazy.

    Strange, how some days they bite like crazy, then the next day you can’t buy a bite.
