The walleye bite is still tough for me. AmWatson and I were on the water by 6:45am. We pulled 3-ways with Raplalas and a crawler harness. The Rapalas in 15-20FOW was our best producer for the day, Black/Gold and Orange/Gold. We ended up with only 2 keeper saugers. We also caught a few short eyes, Small saugers and others. Even a LM and SM Bass came out of 20’.

We then made a run to the dam and started pulling plastics. The Super Doo I had on and, the Ringworm AmWatson was using produced some short hits. We notice there were a few boats around picking up small saugers on minnows. I then threw a Jig N Rap over the side in 20FOW. It also produced a few small sausage length saugers. It was fun to catch a few fish

The surface temp is back to 60 degrees. Not a lot of flow going on either. With the wind dieing down and low flow, the trolling motor was needed at the dam to get some kind of movement going! There were times the South wind would even push us against what little current there was. With the dropping temps on the way things are only going to get better! Hold on, there is a bite coming to pool 8 yet

    Good luck fishing people!

I fished the upper end of pool 8 Sunday morning mainly trolling cranks and dragging a Crawdad ringworn which was my best bait. I ended up catching a few smallies, one real nice striper and a few northerns with it. I also jigged at the damn for a while with no luck and caught one keeper ‘eye dragging a ringworn on the WI side north of the I-90 bridge. I didn’t see much action from the other boats. Boat control was a lot work in the wind but still a great morning to be out.
