I was just looking at all the ring worms and K-grubs trying to get ready for the fall. My question to you is when you put a ring worm or k-grub on is there a certain way you like to put it on, I have always put it on with the tail facing in a upward positon. I also want to here some of your favorite colors. I hope everone is exited as I am. Thanks for you help.

When casting I like the tail facing down. A couple years back Dustin and I did a bunch of messing around in a pool and we seemed to get a lot more tail action at a slower retrieve speed with the tail down.

I would have to agree with the slow retrieve tail facing down. Bump ’em off the rocks/bottom for the best results.

What about if you are vertical jiging? that is when I have the tail faceing up. James I just got your fishing tape. That is one of the best fishing tapes I have ever seen. Thanks a lot.

I still like it facing down as the tail of larger grubs, 5″ K-grubs for an example, will actually wrap around the head of the jig and line or impale itself on the hook point if you turn the tail around so it is facing upwards.

I’m glad you like that video. I have another one coming out Dec. 1 that will take what we did in the fishing plastics video to a whole new level.

Purple/chartreuse tail seems to kick off the plastic bite for me along with any of the firecracker colors. Once the water gets very clean, I will spend most of my time fishing oyster shell and pro-blue.

Favorite k-grub colors are firecracker, chartreuse pepper, pearl chartreuse, pearl blue S/P.

The first one that is done now has been out for a couple of years. It focuses on catching walleyes on plastics in rivers.

IF you’re interested in getting a copy they’re for sale here >>> Mastering Plastics

The reviews we’ve received on that first release has been very favorable. Here’s a link to a short clip >>> Mastering Plastics – Sneak Preview

The one I’m working on now that will be released Dec. 1, 2006 will be covering how to target trophy walleye in the fall.

I want it know. (jk) I can wait until it comes out. I loved the first one and can’t wait to put some of those tips to use.

I want it done too. The script writing and prep work is killing me!

This next release is going to be a major advance over the first video. It will be an interactive DVD that will actually interface with the forums here on IDA. Have a question while watching the DVD? Click the web connect button and off you go to the appropriate forum here on the site to get an answer.

I’ll keep everyone posted and will be releasing short video clips, starting on the 19th of October.

Way Awesome James! You’ve come a LONG way since the old days of FTR!

Can’t wait to see this. What hooked me on FTR and keeps me here now is the willingness of others to share and help their fellow anglers catch more fish. With the massive expansion of the knowledge base (exponential membership)over the years, and your continuous improvements, it just keeps getting better and better!

Anyone else see the tape? Does it give good instruction or like some others, fun to watch but you don’t learn much. If you guys like the tape I will be ordering. Great website, thanks for all the reports.

Here’s some posts containing comments from people that have purchased and watched the video.

To my knowledge the only comment we’ve ever received that was even remotely negative was that we haven’t done more of them. And that’s about to change.

I just received mine today and you wont be disappointed. You wont find an “Al Linder” publication that covers Mississippi fall-eyes on plastics better. I’d like to see a whole collection of these, starting from spring to hardwater, Mississippi patterns

And if you ever go out on a guide trip with James or Dustin

(which I would recommend) you will find that the things they demonstrate on the DVD is what they do (as well as other methods) when you are out with them.

The DVD is great, but the guide trips really help a guy put it all together.

And now that I “have it all togethe” I’m turning pro.
