Hey guys, I havnt seen many people out on 2 so wanted to put up a quick report. I havnt been down there for a couple weeks but the fall bite looks to be warming up. Water temp were at 67 degrees and about everywhere I fished was loaded with bait. Casted cranks, plastics, and hair. We ended up with 3 eyes, 2 smallies and a handfull of white bass in about 2 hrs. The biggest eye was 23″ and they would olny hit dark hair jigs “black and orange” is my favorite but black and dark blue caught fish also. I cannot wait for the upcoming weeks down there Should keep getting better and better!!

Anyone else been down lately??? I will be down there quite a bit in the next couple months and will keep an eye out for you fellow IDA’rs

Thank You for the report, been thinking for a while I should head down there one of these days. I’ll give your colors a try someday soon!

I haven’t been down for a while, but in about 2 weeks I’ll start hitting it hard. I can’t wait!

    Hey John!
I’m thinking I’ll hit it sooner than that. Have you found in the past much of a midday bite? I got about 3 hours free 4 days a week from noon until 3 and want to hit the river then. Hopefully the fish will cooperate.

I was out for 3 hours w/ my dad on Sun from 2-5pm. He had his new glass boat, so we didnt get as close to the rocks as I would have liked.

6 eyes from 14-20″ and about 10 fat white bass. All above the confluence.

All but one eye came in the last 45 minutes, I expect the sun down bite might be pretty good.

    dd,

My advice is if you’ve got the time, GO FISHING! If you can’t get them in the afternoon by pitching jigs, you can always try trolling cranks. My experience is that on overcast days the fish will go (off and on) all day.

Thanks guys! 3 hours isn’t a lot of time (despite what my wife says.) But if you don’t have to go far to hit a ramp and you have a gameplan a guy should be able to get some action in!

So I tested my theory today and those 3 hours just flew by.
I barely beat my kid home from school. I only got a 3 lb drum for my efforts; but I got to try my new Avid. Sweet!

I got the drum on a green hair jig that had been sitting in my box for years. It has a wire weed guard and I could not snag that puppy. I was tossing it right into the rocks.
I might have to look more into jigs with the weed guards.

I hit upper p2 for a couple hours tuesday night. We pulled cranks from about 7:00-9:45. A bunch of smallies in the daylight, handfull of white bass, 1 sauger before dark, 1 well after dark. It was cold, npthing to write home about but the smallies kept us busy.
