ah i can’t give you to much crap for bass fishing. I fish for smallies alot especially around black hawk park on the miss. Got some nice 19 inches last time up there. Gave up on the eye fishing for the day because there was the p and m tournament going on and to many other people fishing for them.
July 11, 2006 at 6:43 pm #459637EAT A CHATTERBAIT!!!
I got a few good smallie spots around Blackhawk from a walleye team that was fishing some championship last fall out of Prairie Du Chien. They said they were catching them on these little, slimy, catfish-things… .
They also said, “Don’t let them sting you”!
July 11, 2006 at 6:47 pm #459638d-nort,
If you’re poo-poo’n the sting from a willowcat you and I need to go scooping with Blue. We’ll let you dig the cats out of the scoop barehanded, until you pass out or beg to be shot in the head with a large caliber gun to ease your passing, which ever comes first… lol
July 11, 2006 at 6:50 pm #459641We do what we can while we all sit here and wait for rain to fall… from a cloudless sky.
July 11, 2006 at 7:01 pm #459650i have a buddy from down south that wants me to go noodling with him. now that is some real crazy fishing there.
July 11, 2006 at 7:05 pm #459657Noodling? Blah, blah, blah. What is so tough about reaching into a log and pulling out a sally catfish? That’s right… I said “Sally, not silly”.
Oh crap…somehow I believe BrianK is standing in the grocery with this strange feeling like something is wrong…
July 11, 2006 at 7:21 pm #459671he had a pic of the one it was 73lb’s. Took 25 min to battle it while it was clamped on his arm the hole time. Ouch comes to mind in my head.

Something about that just doesn’t seem very smart…???
July 11, 2006 at 7:47 pm #459686* Hey bubba, gettin’ any?
** Justa cuppa.
* Whut they bitin’ un?
** Mu hand!
July 11, 2006 at 11:45 pm #459778So…I’m standing in line at the grocery store and the word “sally” pops into my mind…I knew right then once I got home I better check the eye forum!
Both you bass and eye guys are just whining that YOUR fish doesn’t get big enough to noodle! Think about it! Put your hand in a hole and out comes a 15 in eye or a 4 pound smallie…what fun!
HAH! My bait fights harder than bass and tastes better than walleye!
July 12, 2006 at 2:57 am #459836can’t argue with you brian i grew up catching cat and still do but i have moved on and matured to walleyes. I just can’t stand eating mushy fish. Love catching them. I fish for them every spring and my grandparents love eating them in the spring but come summer time they saw let them go and don’t fish for them.

It is ok they are bass fisherman that is why they starve all the time because bass taste terrible and walleyes and saugers are great eating.
I would dispute that

Let’s steer this back to the original intent of the post… where do the walleye guys go in the summer?
They all go bass fishing thats why they are on the good side posting and ignoring this boring little corner of the siteJuly 22, 2006 at 5:00 pm #462551I have one perticular walleye spot that is loaded with smallmouth every year. Well my partner and I took care of that. We pickled about 50 of them bronze backs over a 3 week period. Now we can finally get to the walleye and catch and release those beautiful critters. Grass Carp, who needs them anymore?
Just kidding around, but I am a reformed bass fisherman made into a walleye fisherman. Never go back to those bass again. If it doesn’t have teeth its not worth the bother. You know those bass are sissy fish when they eat pink jigs.
