Or does the bass forum seem to have alot more postings than this one. I know there are alot of guys on here that fish eyes alot but i am suprised we don’t get the amount of posts. Everytime i am on the river i always see people like myself fishing for eyes. Heck post on here wether you caught anything or not i always do.

Agreed. Even I slow down my postings this time of year as there seems to be less interest. Fall – Spring it seems like people are just chomping at the bit for the word on the bite.
I’ll do what I can to share more. I’m still guiding and the fish ARE still biting.
July 11, 2006 at 4:07 pm #459547I think it’s because everyone is starting to fish bass!
Even Lip has a smallie for his Avatar.!
July 11, 2006 at 4:13 pm #459549True. I do a lot of bass fishing this time of year… those things are dumb as a box of rocks and fun to catch.
July 11, 2006 at 4:35 pm #459559If it was a shot at you it was a shot at myself. I have a VERY soft spot in my heart for topwater smallies this time of year.

Don’t waste my time with the largemouth as they are way to easy to catch.
You guys are crackin’ me up!
I have an idea about how to get more posts in this forum. All you have to do is get a ” bass guy ” to say something like… “Live bait fishing is cheating! Come on! Dangling a leech or minnow in front of a fish is like setting a bowl of macaroni in front of a 10 year old. OF COURSE they’re going to eat it!”. Or have one of those ” outsiders ” say, “the real sport is catching fish by casting…not trolling”!
You guy know I’m just playin. There was a brief time in my life I intentionally caught a walleye or two. .
Remember…I’m only trying to boost your posts…
July 11, 2006 at 5:22 pm #459581Here’s my opinion bluntly stated… Anyone with a rod n reel can catch a bass. The difference between an amateur bass fisherman and a tourney pro is… bottom line… $$$
July 11, 2006 at 5:33 pm #459586Let’s steer this back to the original intent of the post… where do the walleye guys go in the summer?
I’ll make an effort to post more. I’m guilt of slacking off this time of year. I can do better.
How about the rest of you?
July 11, 2006 at 5:35 pm #459588Now you’re going to get some posts!
As a matter of fact, there is some truth to your reply; however, “amateur” and “pro” need to be defined. If an “AMATEUR” is a guy who can consistantly place in the top 20% of the field in lets say a Stren tournament and win $10,000-$40,000 a year but can’t quite pay the mortgage with his checks, then “YES!” your statement hold water .
If you are saying any local walleye ( accidentally load up on nice smallies on a wingdam with livebait ) fisherman can compete AND be a successful tournament bass fisherman… you’re wrong!
Trust me, if it is easy, why isn’t everyone doing it?
July 11, 2006 at 5:45 pm #459596Wow! That was very politicalt correct D-Nort. The first comment that came to mind for me would have been censored.
There is a reason that I’m not a PRO. I love to chase bass and feel I’m pretty good at it. But ther is NO way I could compete week in week out. Just like most guys can’t do it fishing eye’s. Sure I can pound 12 to 14 incers all day. SO can most guys that have half a brain on there shoulders. The difference is being able to catch Kicker fish 4 to 5lbrs’ when the heat is on and the bite is off. Show me a guy that can do that every week and I’l show you a picture of KVD.
July 11, 2006 at 5:52 pm #459599I’d be a multi-millionaire if I could catch 15 pound per day in EVERY tournament I fish for like only the next 10 years… if that.
It’s true. Just pick out any one of the top circuits (FLW, B.A.S.S., etc…) and see where 15 pounds/ day will put you…
It’s easy to catch 3-4 pounders when you’re not a tournament fishing .

You’re probably right…ANYBODY can catch a bass…they’re just stupid fish…but so are walleye! Catching five quality bass consistantly on waters that you never have been on and get pounded by 200+ anglers for 5 days prior to the tournament…well that is a different story.
If the only difference between an amateur bass fisherman and a pro is money…why can’t I or anyone else on this website catch as many bass as KVD????

July 11, 2006 at 5:57 pm #459604See…. All you need to do is insult the Bass guys to bring up the posts in the walleye forum.
July 11, 2006 at 5:59 pm #459605ok you thread jacking wannabe walleye fisherman. this is the walleye forum and unless you have some good info on walleyes get back to your bass forum.

The fish are ALWAYS bigger when they don’t see a tape or a scale. From my experience most anglers, even fairly experienced anglers, will over-inflate the weight of a walleye by 25% – 33% on any fish over 24 inches.
Can’t tell ya’ how many times I’ve just replied with… “uh, yeah… 10 lbs, eh? I was thinking closer to 11.”
July 11, 2006 at 6:01 pm #459609HEY! Look at me! I’m being silly to distract you guys long enough to get you to stop poking at each other… lol
July 11, 2006 at 6:05 pm #459610Hey Bassholes lol Just kidding folks, like I said, thats just my opinon. Heck Ive been wrong one time b4
July 11, 2006 at 6:10 pm #459611Hey James, any time you have a forum which is not performing as one would like, just call on me! I’ll shoot the posts through the roof.
Walleye guy questions lack of posts…bass guy replies… walleye guy responds… bass guy responds…walleye guy gets mad…bass guy get mad…walleye guy get madder, bass guy gets……………well you get the point!
AND PRESTO! HOT Thread!
July 11, 2006 at 6:14 pm #459615It is ok they are bass fisherman that is why they starve all the time because bass taste terrible and walleyes and saugers are great eating.
July 11, 2006 at 6:17 pm #459619Starving? Some of the bass guys I know can put half empty beers on their bellys, while standing vertical, and not spill a drop.
In a walleye boat “I ate your lunch” means I out-fished your sorry butt.
In a bass boat it means I out-fished your sorry butt, ate your lunch and drank all your beer.

Dear Mr. BassHog, he’s trying to get your riled. Resist the urge.
July 11, 2006 at 6:20 pm #459623@ James and when you get out fished in a bass boat you go home completley empty handed unlike if you only caught two keepers in a walleye boat you still have some food.
July 11, 2006 at 6:23 pm #459626I’m pretty much 100% CPR these days so to me its a mute point. However I’ve been known to put one heck of a hurt on the grilled chicken breast.
July 11, 2006 at 6:23 pm #459627You’re right. Walleye are some tasty critters.
I bass fish strictly for the sport. In fact, if we don’t put our bass back in the water alive during tournaments we get penalized and loose money.
So it actually pays for me to eat walleye… Yummy.
If this thread keep heating up, I’m going to have to ask one of you walleye guys to post in our Bass Forum so we can get our posts back up…
July 11, 2006 at 6:25 pm #459629just keep posting here bass man then again you are from wisconsin i could call you a cheddar head. Just kidding. Oh and by the way how about my chicago bears.
