Last week I spent Wednesday through Friday fishing subject pools. My intent was to focus on Walleye, but the bite had really slowed, ironically the day I arrived. The temps were high and a strong SE wind continued for all three days. The result was a switch to nite crawlers for a portion of the time.
We did catch fish, including a few decent Walleye on a Pool 6 Wind dam after 8 PM. However, the best bite was sunfish in the snags, especially on Pool 5A. I also managed to catch a fair amount of Sheepies, a hugh carp, a nice mudcat and a few nice Bass.
Despite the above, the fishing was slow, especially when you consider my catch consisted of three days on the water.
