I would start out at Maiden Rock, over by Hok-si-la area, Deer Island, or Waterman’s bay. Troll cranks in about 10-12 feet of water. Be prepared to go as shallow as 5-6 feet if it becomes windy with choppy waves. Start out by trying size seven Shad Raps in jointed and regular or the larger size Wally Diver. Red craw, Chartruese, Firetiger, and shad patterns should produce well. Keep the boat moving. Anywhere from 3.3-3.8 MPH should entice a strike.
The bite has slowed noticeably in the last few days because of the mayfly hatch so don’t expect too much but you should be able to bring home a couple limits if you wish.
Hope this help. Be sure to post how you fare.

small world Lenny, this is Ambers bf, and the guy thats goin out with me is Tammys neighbor named Mike “the guy we were taking wood from for the fire”, me and Amber seen your thread of the day you and Zach tore up them eyes, hopefully we’ll get lucky since i’m still teachin Amber how to fish, we got her a new open face so she’s just learning how to cast it finally lol…she caught some crappies and 4 smallies and a rock bass yesterday on the Cannon River. my catch of the day was a real nice 20″ black sauger, few pike, few smallies, few crappies.

looks like the eyes are hitting them cranks movin pretty fast huh? we were thinkin about using cranks and jigs mainly..i seen a few members were havin good luck draggin the jigs so i might give that a shot too. i’ll let you know how we did forsure…let me know if you wanna hook up and fish sometime or u can come down and we’ll catch u some of that bait you wanted….thanks for the advice we’ll have a good idea where to start now!

yuk, did the walleyes turn off the last few days or what? we only caught 2 little guys, 3 smallies, a striper and 2 sheepers. didn’t see any of the other boats pull anything in though so i don’t think it was just us….tried cranks, casting, trolling, jigging, draggin jigs, fatheads, jumbo leeches….nothin seemed to work today….anyone else have any luck?
