I thought maybe all the walleyes had gone on vacation where I was this morning (east side wingdams). Tried crawlers, casted cranks, ringies, K-grubs, and nada!

Took a two hour break and landed quite a few bass before I made one last try pulling cranks on the west side. Caught two fat walleyes (about 17″) on #7 JSR’s (walleye and red craw patterns).

Finally, someone else whoe admits to catching fish on the walleye pattern! Sometimes that bait is like magic for us in the smaller streams around home!

Baby Walleye and Baby Bass pattern Shad Raps are my go to in the summer on pool 8. I really like the natural color cranks that Rapala came out with. Try the Baby Bluegill color too, also very good.

I used to have really good luck with an all white bomber model A. Lost it and haven’t been able to find all white since. — Nice fat fish in the photo tho.– Have had some luck with eyes, but can’t keep the catfish away. Hope to try tonite for a while. good luck fishing–John

    Will-eye,
We got a bunch of the walleye pattern Shad Raps clearanced out over the Winter—haven’t caught a walleye on one yet but go to the Lake Oahe Forum and look at my post to see what Chris caught on one! They sure look fishy.

    Rich,

That must have been a lot of fun for you guys. You need to frame that picture and glue the crank to the frame. That’d be a good conversation piece.

Pops said he enjoyed talking to you guys and looked forward to meeting you on your next trip West. Should be plenty of fish there by the end of the month.
