Good god! What a sow. Did she swim away or go on the wall?

    Nice catch.

Great Walleye, that’s within ounces of the Iowa state record!

    Hey Steve,

She was only 27 inches long when I put here back LOL. That just goes to show you that catch and release works. Great report you had from yesterday. I talked to Mike W. on the phone just after you picked up that first fish. He said she was a beauty, nice picture. We are going to have to get together so you can show me how it is done. I did all the same things in the same places on Saturday, and couldn’t beg, borrow, or steal a fish like that.

    TBO,

Thanks for the kind words on the report.
I think the fish finally felt sorry for me with all the problems I have been having lately and decided to cut me some slack!!
Pool 2 has been slow for the most part in the past couple weeks. Having confidence in a spot or a presentation has proved to me over and over that if I can stick with it, it may payoff. But I am sure not one to beat a dead horse either, where’s the fine line here? No idea…gut feel maybe.

You are right though, catch and release does work just look at the health of all the fish you catch on Pool 2, fat and pretty. Just the way I like them!

man oh man, what a fish.

I’d be pretty sure it went on the wall if it’s only ounces short of the state recored.

I don’t know who this youngster is, but I was fishing next to him and his pals on Sunday. I sure did not think he was going to catch MY fish , but I guess I should’ve hooked her when I had the chance!
I’ll be over to R&R tommorrow. I’ll try to find out if she was CPR’d, but I have my doubts. It sure is nice to know there are fish like that litterally in my own back yard! Gives me renewed vigor for finding that once in a lifetime fish right here at home!
