Who wants to go to cancun with tons of chicks when fishing is this good, well, maybe i would but that is a different story.
All of these fish have been caught at the same time that the picture was taken, I wish i had a digital so they would have been on there sooner, but this will do. There is a monstrous northern in there and would like opinion’s from guys on how much it weighs, it was around 36.5 inches, had to make a mark on my boat cause i didn’t have a tape long enough for it, but the walleyes are all over 22 inches except for the ones in a group that went home to the tummy. Most came on hair jigs a couple on plastics, The northern came on a walleye killer same to the one that Lee Flick makes dragging on a sand flat, He did have a first look at a ringie, but decided this hair was going to pay. Others came vertical jigging and a good number came on casting sand flats and shorelines with my bucktail jigs, mostly on chartreuse, but osme on brown, purple, and black. It was a very good week for me.

fish were in depths from 8 feet to 30 feet with more of the bigger fish coming from shallower water, but a few did come from the depths of 35-30 feet.

Let us know how you do at Whitman. I was there Monday and the fishing was very slow but the few I caught were big. All four between 18-25 inches. Three of the four were female and released because they were full of spawn. Good luck and release those females.

    Jeff,

guessing the Northern at 36.5 inches was about 16 lbs; however, from your picture at looks a bit longer then 36 inches. Last year we had 3 from 35 to 40 inches and they weighted between 14 and 19 lbs; consequently, my 16LB estimate. From that picture you took the thing looks over 40 inches.

like i said i didn’t really have anything that long to measure with plus we tried to get her in the water quicker, it might have been bigger, but it was sure fun.
