well, spent saturday morning out on pool 5. we were fishing by 7:00. started at he dam, but did see a single fish caught there by anyone in a half hour or so, so we headed back down stream. we were suprised to see the lack of boats fishing downstream of the alma ramp. we fished all the spots we caught fish last sat. with no luck. we tried a few new spots too, but still no fish. we worked wing dams and current breaks mainly. we through everything we had at them; ringworms, superdoos, jig/minnow. we even did some three way riggin. not a single fish all morning . we never even saw a fish get caught.

by 11:00 we had had enough, so we packed it in and went to kwik trip for 3 hotdogs for a $1.19 we didn’t go back up to the dam, but most all the boats that were out were fishing up there. i don’t know if the fishing got better this afternoon with the nicer weather, but it sure couldn’t have gotten any worse.

    Jake,

Fishing was real slow on Pool 5 today but big fish were being caught. Sometime when things get tough and fish don’t like what you have been giving them you just have to get simple. Today we boated 3 nice walleyes with a couple eaters also. Pictures to be seen tomorrow. Today we started ringworming and within 15 minutes we pulled out the net. That presentation soon died so we switched up. What was the key? I will tell tomorrow in report. What we used today really put good quality walleyes in the boat. Sometimes the simplest things work. Sometimes Jake patience really pays. Don’t feel bad lots of people today were cussing. But big fish were being caught.
