Water is flying up. Fish are getting out of the way. The ice from above the dam is breaking and coming down, with some good sized pieces including some that could do some damage. So go slow and keep your eyes open. Yesterday and today the eyes fed in spurts , but like wolves. For us at least 11:00 – 2:30 was the most active.
Best spurt today was 20 + eyes in an hour. Three boats that were at the right place and at right time all had fun. Larger ones in this bunch were cookie cutter 19 inchers. Dark colored,(black/purple), Taylor Tackle 1/4 Oz. Walleye Killer hair jigs were hot today. Sometimes I used meat and sometimes I didn’t. I also saw plastics catch some today.

This morning Nates famous live bait rig was banging the
Wall-Walleyes steadily, but they really were a lot more finicky than the Noon-afternoon hair bite. I’m not sure why they were hugging the walls more today than usual, even in lower flow areas.
