Warm weather is here and the days of only a handfull of boats on this pool are gone. There has been a fair amount of traffic the last 2 days. Saw a few brand new rigs including a large Lund that had 8 people out for a ride.
I have found my fishing to be a bit tough compared to a couple of months ago. Add in a bit of a motor problem with a stuck float in the lower carb , it was good that I was close to home.
I did not venture out till later in the day again and saw Boone and his father at the ramp. They had a better morning bite and then things slowed for them in the early afternoon.
I checked out a few spots and had very little to show for it. I was not able to stay late to fish after dark.
I will hit it early on Sunday to try to change my luck.

    Dino,

Good to see you and your brother getting out Saturday afternoon. Like I said, we had some better action earlier in the day but one would still have to say it was slow. We fished the airport area and caugth about 5-6 walleyes. The largest was 21″ but the others were in the 12-15″ range. After noon we caught two saugers (16″ and 21″) north of the 494 bridge on a three-way rig with a minnow. Overall I didn’t see a lot of fish being caught. It’ll be interesting to read DeeZee’s report and to see how you did Sunday morning.

I did get out early and was fishing by 6:30. I decided that I would start at the airport and passed up the chance to fish other spots. It took a bit before I found some fish willing to bite. I was working a small ledge next to the channel and found some decent walleyes up to 20″. After that slowed down I found a spot loaded with fish , too bad they would not bite on anything I had. They must have been a specie that was not interested in jigs , plastic or minnows.
A bit later in the morning a green River Pro boat came down from upstream. Nice rig. After fishing for a bit they cranked up and headed back up river. They hit the gas and that boat just shot up out of the water on plane within seconds. Quite a sight and sound.
I headed downstream and fished a couple of wing dams with no success. I did see Dee Zee and his favorite boat partner(Yellow Lab) stop for a shore break. We had a chance to chat a while and he said he had 3 nice walleyes to show for his efforts. Maybe I should have worked shallower early in the morning?
When I landed at 12:30 there was quite a crowd at the ramp parking lot. There were plenty of boaters and fishermen out enjoying the nice day.
