Wow was yesterday ever a bust at blackhawk. Fishe for 8 hours and caught 1 catfish. River was up about 4 feet and the rollers had to have been open at genoa because wow was the current rolling. Saw a total of 3 saugers/eyes caught all day. Looked as if it was still rising when we left as well. Going to be a few weeks before that is back down and by then the eyes will prob. be already spawned out.

Honda75 Thanks for the report, water level coming up to flood stage by Friday, with all the rain forecast we will be at high water for quite sometime. Did you fish up Minnesota slough? If so how far up? RB

We fished from the New albin landing down on the Minn. Slough and the current was moving along very well, but not as fast as on the main channel.

    I feel your pain!

I am still new to pool 12-downriver(Dubuque)-though the water conditions seemed pretty stable compared to last weekend-but I was scoreless on Saturday, as well.

In three trips to the Mississippi this spring, I have yet to catch a fish. Whenever I go, it seems the flow is too high or some weather front has just passed (I need an excuse! )

I may take a week or two off the river, then when the water temps cross 50, try trolling instead of jigging. I need to find out if I forgot how to troll too!

This past saturday was the first weekend i haven’t caught a fish on the miss. all year long. I even had better luck in January which is very suprising.
