river rigs

I was wondering if anyone has used Carolina rigs with plastic in the river

I was playing a little with this combonation late last fall that produced a few walleyes on the deep side of some wingdams that I was fishing. It may have a time and a place as I did not spend as much time with it that I would have liked to. I have fished them quite a bit for deep river smallies though with lots of success.

I have used them on the river, both with live bait and plastics. Stick with a jig or cranks when the fish are active, but if they are looking for something a little more subtle, it wouldn’t hurt to give them a try.
